Our open house (Sat Jan 17th, 2009) was a great success. One never knows with these things. What if no one showed up? Fortunately, that was not the case. We enjoyed greeting about 100 people from the Tri-County area as well as a van load of friends from Covenant Life Church in Suwanee, Ga. We received positive support from Judge Brenda Weaver and Judge Roger Bradley, as well as from Probation in Pickens County. Many people from the community visited, either out of curiosity, wanting to help, or they had a loved one in need of a place like Isaiah House.
Judger Bradley came in dressed casually in a blue jean jacket. I did not immediately recognize him. I told him he seemed familiar and inquired where I knew him from. He said, “oh, around” I asked him his name and he just said, “Roger” When I asked his last name and he told me, he laughed and I laughed. I appreciated his good humor.
Ed gave many tours throughout the house and answered many questions. I never made it out of the living room- talking to all the new people.
Thank you to those of you who kindly gave a donation, a prayer, a word of encouragement and a special thanks to Tommy Morris for donating a 1994 Mercury Grand Marquis GS. It came just in time, now that we have four resident men.
I appreciate all the friends who came to encourage us. I am sorry that we were not able to sit and visit with you all as much as we would have liked to.
Blessings!
Sally & Ed
