We celebrated the Christmas holiday at our Coosawattee house this year. We had a White Christmas here in Ellijay. In fact, it was so white that we were snowed in for a few days. One of Our Men had to hike down the hill and walk back to Isaiah House to feed our animals. This Thanksgiving we enjoyed 16 Isaiah House men and guests. We were blessed with an abundance of food, laughter, and gratitude. We all shared what was the same and what had changed since last year. There was a lot of heartfelt reflection on how blessed each of us are.

We recently created a House Manager position to help with the day-to-day operations here at Isaiah House. And the house manager needed to have his own bedroom. Located along the main residential hallway, Ed’s former office was an ideal location.

Our garden is off to a great start, thanks to Debra Young for donating a trailer full of horse manure, and Isaiah House composting all year.Our soil is fantastic this year. We have already enjoyed our first crop pickings of cucumbers, squash and zucchini. Tomaotes are about to turn red, if I can keep the chickens away from them.

My beautiful garden!
We have planted a variety of tomatoes and peppers, bush beans, string beans and snap peas. We have okra, cucumbers, squash, zucchini, eggplant, watermelon and cantelope. And of course, a plentiful herb garden where we enjoy fresh herbs and I also dry them for use later in the year. Bon...
