In less than two weeks, five of our six men have found full time jobs in Ellijay! The economy may be bad but the Lord’s isn’t! God is good!

Tonight Isaiah House held its first weekly CA (Cocaine Anonymous) Meeting. It is affectionately named, ‘The Last Straw’ Group. There were about 20 people in attendance. It was a great meeting and the first CA group in this county. We look forward to seeing it grow.
We now have six men in residence and three were hired by Pilgrim’s Pride today.

Today we were invited to speak about Isaiah House at Cartecay Baptist Church in Ellijay. The pastor, Davis Lacey, held out a $100 dollar bill to several young children up front. He asked them who wanted it? They all eagerly raised their hands. Then he scribbled on it, crumpled it up, and stomped on it with his dirty shoes. We are blessed and excited to let you know that we already have four resident at Isaiah House, who have been accepted into our program. Due to the positive response from the community and the calls we are receiving from prospective residents, work has begun in completing the bathroom in the last bedroom. Our open house (Sat Jan 17th, 2009) was a great success. One never knows with these things. What if no one showed up? Fortunately, that was not the case. We enjoyed greeting about 100 people from the Tri-County area as well as a van load of friends from Covenant Life Church in Suwanee, Ga. We are busy completeing renovations (plumbing, painting, etc) and getting ready for our OPEN HOUSE this Saturday, January 17th from 2-6pm.
There has been a tremendous outpouring of support. Our phone is ringing off the hook with people interested in learning more about our program. Two of our 13 available spots have already been filled with several more applications on the way.
